Locit is delighted to announce that its window cable restrictor has been successfully tested to comply with British Standard BS6375 – 2: 2009 performance test, further enhancing the product’s reputation for safety.
The cable restrictor, which safely restricts the opening distance of windows, is manufactured by Dynatech Engineering Limited. It was tested in accordance to the operation and strength performance standard, easily holding the load bearing required.
Locit distributor Chris Law of SashJack Limited commented “Figures taken from DTI’s Home and Leisure Surveillance System (HASS/LASS) indicate that more than 2,000 children under five are injured after falling from buildings and other structures. It is therefore vital that building owners invest in suitable safety measures, such as window cable restrictors.
“We wanted to officially prove that Locit’s window cable restrictor performs to the highest available level of safety, which is why we invested in this stringent testing standard”.
The Locit window cable restrictor can be fitted during manufacture or once the window is installed. The restrictor is then key operated by the end-user to ensure a safe distance of opening between the window sash and frame.
