Leading bending specialist, Universal Arches and cable trunking manufacturer, Rehau have again worked in partnership in the education sector on a refurbishment project at Darwen Vale High School in Blackburn , Lancashire.
As School design move towards contemporary layouts, new products solutions are being developed to accommodate new designs and shapes of rooms. For this latest collaboration between the two companies, Universal were able to provide a bespoke curved solution for the trunking on several shaped internal walls in the form of pre-shaped sections.
Each curved trunking section was manufactured using specialist heating ovens for the standard 3 metre sections of trunking. Once at the necessary temperature, each section was then pre-formed using specific jigs for this project. The high quality of the Rehau trunking meant that the forming could be carried out without any risk to the performance of the product once in situ.
Universal Arches and Rehau are now actively looking for more projects where the company can harness their expertise, in addition to their recent project at Bolton College. Darwen Vale High School is scheduled to open fully in September 2012 to the delight of both staff and pupils.
Leo Day Managing Director of Universal Arches comments “This latest project clearly demonstrates our expertise as a PVCu profile shaper and our ability to work in the big arena with key partners. We’re hopeful of further commercial sector work as it proves our credentials as the clear leader in the PVCu bending industry.”
