An A4 guide setting out the terms of the Green Deal and how it will work is now available from the Double Glazing and Conservatory Ombudsman Scheme (DGCOS). The leaflet explains the scheme in ‘Plain English’, gathering all the relevant, most recent information to provide a quick reference guide for anyone interested in learning more about the Green Deal. With answers to the most frequently asked questions, it covers the various stages of the process and includes details of assessors and providers confirmed so far.
The leaflet also explains the Golden Rule, which ensures that the cost of Green Deal projects can be met by the projected savings on energy bills – a condition all installations must meet in order to qualify.
Tony Pickup, Founder of the first glazing Ombudsman Scheme, comments: “Installers are swamped with information on the Green Deal, from all directions. We’ve put this leaflet together to cut through the confusion and provide a reliable, clear and user friendly guide to what promises to be a major element of the industry over the next 20 years”.
