Visit the GGF Group Zone at the Fit Show

The FIT Show (16th-18th April), promises to be one of the most exciting industry events of the year and the GGF as major sponsors of the Show are planning a showcase presentation area entitled, the GGF Group Zone.

 

Situated in the Wenlock Suite on the upper level of the Telford International Centre, the GGF Group Zone will be the place where visitors to the show, GGF Members, and non-members alike are invited to in depth seminars and informative one to one sessions on key industry issues presented by the GGF and its group of companies including FENSA the competent persons scheme, British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC) and GGFi – the GGF’s insurance wing. As well as seminars and presentations, visitors can enter competitions with great prizes to be won, plus for GGF Members there’s an exclusive Members Lounge to take time out and network with other Members. It’s all happening at the GGF Group Zone!

The GGF Group will have a rolling seminar programme over all three days of the show. The highlights include:

 

Construction Products Regulation – Are You Ready?

Compulsory CE Marking comes into force on July 1st 2013, Russell Day, GGF Technical Officer gives an expert presentation providing all the advice and guidance you will need to ensure you are operating within the law.

 

Consumer Rights Directive – Cool Off!

The new Consumer Rights Directive has sent shudders through the industry with reports of a new14 days cooling off/cancellation period for consumers. Brian Smith, GGF Home Improvement Manager, shows how the new directive will affect your company and offers recommendations on dealing with the new legislation.

 

Health and Safety – Fees For Intervention

Declan Moore, The GGF’s Health and Safety Manager provides key information and advice on how to handle the new Fees For Intervention (FFI) scheme that is now in force and costing companies across the UK.

FENSA and BFRC Seminars and Clinics

FENSA and BFRC will also be holding seminars and clinics at the Show. As the UK’s leading competent person’s scheme for windows, FENSA is also a UKAS accredited Green Deal Certification Body. At the show, FENSA is running seminars on the revised requirements for installers self certifying, Minimum Technical Competency (MTC) and Green Deal as well as 15 minute one to one clinics with the FENSA inspection team. GQA will be on hand to answer questions about MTC with the possibility of signing up on the day. BFRC is also holding seminars on WERs, one of which will presented by eco-campaigner and TV presenter James Strawbridge.

It’s not all work at the GGF Group Zone! We’re offering great prizes in our two competitions which all visitors can enter.

Exclusive Members Lounge  

With all the buzz going on around the FIT Show, we expect GGF Members who may be visitors or exhibitors will need a place to unwind, relax and take stock. That’s why we have set up The GGF Members Lounge – an exclusive area of the GGF Group Zone where GGF Members can enjoy some refreshments and network with other Members. The GGF Members Lounge will be accessible for Members only and refreshments will be available throughout the show. There will also be WIFI available and GGF Staff will be on hand to assist in any way. It’s yet another benefit GGF Members are invited to take full advantage of, at The FIT Show.

 

GGF Group Exhibition Stands

Though there’s a lot of activity at the GGF Group Zone, we’re also in other areas of the Show including in the exhibition halls. You can visit the GGF Group Stand in Hall 2, stand number 2-214. On the GGF Group stand the GGF team will be pleased to help you with enquiries on the GGF and its subsidiary companies including FENSA, BFRC (British Fenestration Ratings Council) and GGFi – the GGF’s insurance company that offers tailor made insurance for the Glazing Industry.

 

Also in Hall 2, FENSA will be on stand no. 2-280 next to the Master Fitter Challenge sponsored by FENSA. In the Master Fitter Challenge there are cash prizes worth £5,000, £3,000 and £2,000 to win. Entrants will need to go through a series of examinations carried out by Glass Qualifications Authority Ltd (GQA) which is managing the event. Eight finalists will be chosen to compete in a series of live installation challenges on a specially constructed pavilion at the FIT Show. The winners will be presented their prizes by FENSA at the FIT Show Gala Dinner on the evening of Wednesday 17th April.
