CENSolutions, the leading consultancy and test facility for the window, door and glazing industries, has extended its range of free market information with the launch of a series of Step By Step guides to compliance with the various new hEN standards. The move follows the successful take up of the company’s How To CE Mark Manual for installers.
Mike Gaillard, CENSolutions Joint MD comments: “While we’ve been banging the drum for years about the introduction of compulsory CE Marking for the UK glazing industry, it’s only now with a few weeks to go that many are trying to get their heads around what is required by the 1st July. The penalties for getting it wrong are not to be taken lightly. Where manufacturers are found to be non-compliant, we understand Trading Standards Officers have powers to take alleged offenders to the courts. In proven cases, the courts can impose custodial sentences of up to 3 months and / or up to £5000 fine, as well as potentially preventing the manufacturer from continuing to trade. While many CENSolutions customers have been compliant for well over 5 years now, for those manufacturers struggling to get the correct information about what to do, we have launched the series of checklists. The guides include information on EN1279 for IGUs, EN12150 for thermally toughened glasses, and EN14351 for Windows and Pedestrian Door Sets.
“We’ve also provided these sheets to the GGF to assist them at the Trading Standards Conference in Brighton in June this year, but for your copy, please visit our website www.censolutions.com where everything will be available once we have logged your company details and issued you with a password.”
