The relationship between Synseal and K2 is bearing further fruit, this time in the form of an orangery roof system with which the designers have brought the genre right up to date.
The Modena offers all of the benefits of structural orangeries but in a form that is highly suited to contemporary buildings. With this new design the market is therefore broadened to include more modern homes, including styles such as the ubiquitous town house which is essential for the London property marketplace.
Incorporating the same popular K2 fully-insulated warm roof construction as the Venetian, the Rio, and the Integra designs, the Modena is a new contemporary-styled structural orangery solution that comes in the usual easy to fit kit. Designed to be fitted on brick build columns or on K2’s proven structural aluminium portal frame posts, the Modena features an additional cantilevered perimeter beam to provide an external overhanging soffit which can be fitted with downlighters. A substantial integrated aluminium gutter is 1200mm wide and faced with a modern design frieze and a 604mm deep internal plasterboarded soffit completes the installation, to create an impressive “double soffit” look.
It is remarkably easy to install, supplied in a kit that requires no drilling or cutting of the aluminium sections and the sturdy gutters can be walked on to greatly simplify maintenance. Subject to size and loading limitations, the Modena also has the design capability to incorporate bi-folding doors up to 6300mm in width.
K2 can provide structural and heat loss calculations in addition to full technical drawings and technical support for the Modena kits, thus ensuring that both straight-forward or ambitious projects may be undertaken with complete confidence.
