In the recently published press release for our new National MTC Site Assessment, Testing and Training business that will be running alongside the Fenestration College I attached FENSA’s name to that paragraph. I would like to clarify that the business is not connected to FENSA and apologise if this has inadvertently lead industry to believe it was.
The updated press release is set out below.
The Fenestration College promotes Dean Johnson to Head of Quality and Compliance.
Dean has been working at the Fenestration College for 12 months heading up the Field based Assessment TEAM. He brought with him a host of skills and attributes and hit the ground running taking on his own caseload of Candidates and Apprentices.
Dean soon gained the respect from the Senior Management TEAM and has doubled the number of on programme learners.
He takes over his new position from Andy Clegg the founder of the Fenestration College who has moved to develop the new National MTC site Assessment, Testing and Training business that will operate alongside the College and Academy.

The Fenestration College the Glass, Glazing & Fenestration industries leading specialist training company has just announced the opening of 4 new regional offices. The offices located in Maidstone, Exeter, Birmingham and London is part of the soft launch to the colleges new MTC business that is planning its launch on the 1st September.
Andy Clegg of the Fenestration College says “the Fenestration College was launched in 2009 with all eyes focused on what then was a new topic within DCLG minimum technical competence – ‘MTC’. In my previous role running both a Survey dept and an Installation dept I know only too well the needs of the industry to have a competent workforce. The business invested in a purpose built Survey training centre and a purpose built Installer training centre and it wasn’t long before the ROI was realised along with additional business benefits that hadn’t been taken into account. In 2009 Clegg set off to “Train the Nation in Fenestration” and has become renowned for making a difference in the industry, he is known for speaking his mind where training and competence are concerned and added to his portfolio of industry firsts with Training the winner of the G10 Apprentice of the Year, and also this years coveted Masterfitter at the FIT Show.
The new arm of the Fenestration College is the First National Specialised Assessment, Testing and Training company set up to facilitate the needs of the new MTC for the glazing installation industry. Over the last 4 1/2 years we have worked with over 2000 candidates, we know exactly what makes them tick by dealing with them on a 121 and by insisting and ensuring that ALL the staff involved in the delivery have actually done the job. Assessor competence is very close to my heart says Andy Clegg, there are far too many people involved in training delivery that do not have the industry minimum competence themselves so how on earth can these individuals be allowed to assess the competence of our field based Installers and Surveyors. the Fenestration College has designed a course to test the competence of Assessors involved in the process, an overview of the course is with a number of competent persons schemes for comment.
