National window fabricator CWG Choices has developed an acoustic window range with SWISSPACER as standard.
The Choices Acoustic Window Solution is the result of extensive testing by CWG Choices to provide a range of windows proven to reduce noise. It was developed in response to demand from architects and homeowners living in high-noise areas, for example near main roads. Tests were carried out using the window frame and sealed unit to give accurate results on decibel reduction.
SWISSPACER’s leading warm edge spacer bar gives excellent thermal performance and helps improve sound efficiency. Jason Wilder, CWG Choices Managing Director explains: “We didn’t consider anything but SWISSPACER in our Choices Acoustic Window Solution range. SWISSPACER is much less conductive than traditional aluminium spacer bars, both in terms of heat and sound transmission. We use SWISSPACER as standard in all our products and we’re very happy with the performance it gives.
“SWISSPACER has good aesthetics too – it’s low glare and discreet. You want your warm edge spacer bar to do its job, but you don’t want to notice it. SWISSPACER is ideal in black or white because it blends into the background.”
The Choices Acoustic Solution Window launched at the FIT Show and the range has already generated a lot of interest. “Within a week of launch we had a large order for a Lifetime Homes development in Hove, East Sussex on the basis that we could not only provide the acoustic performance required, but at a highly competitive cost. We are also producing a roadside video of our new range to show homeowners the real difference these windows make in noise reduction,” adds Jason.
