Bi-folding door hardware specialists, Debar has embarked on an array of stringent testing processes to ensure their bi-folding door hardware system excels performance standards in every aspect.
Debar wanted to demonstrate their products could perform using the industry’s most appropriate performance procedures and worked with BM TRADA, at their testing facilities in High Wycombe to test their bi-folding door products to the BS6375 Part 1: 2009 involving; testing for air permeability, water-tightness and wind resistance.
Debar’s Technical Manager Phil Snowden commented, “Although there are no current technical specification for the performance of a bi-folding doorset, we wanted to ensure our products stepped up to the mark and should the requirements change in the future be ready for certification”
“We were delighted that the tests conducted on the ‘Visofold 1000’ aluminium bi-folding doorset not only passed all recommended tests, but exceeded our expectation on the water-tightness tests.” Phil continued.
After each test is conducted, BM TRADA makes sure the bi-folding door unit under goes additional checks for functionality; this is to ensure that none of the hardware components have failed during the testing process.
Kyle Morris, BM TRADA senior technical officer commented, “After each testing procedure, we operated Debar Visofold 1000 sliding doorset five times, the doorset continued to function satisfactory with no apparent failures to the hardware.
“Performance testing can be expensive and time consuming for companies who wish to prove reliability, strength and stability of their products and it is always good to work with businesses like Debar, who has insight for the future and go that extra mile to prove their products performance.” concluded Kyle.
Debar will also be conducting further tests; for impact and security on their hardware over forthcoming months. Further information will be posted on the company’s site www.bifold-hardware.com later this year. For further information, call the sales team on 01274 673547.
