One of the country’s fastest-growing door companies has welcomed a new sales director onto the board.
Jim Stewart joins the Distinction Doors board this month and is already working on developing sales for the South Yorkshire firm, which is home to the insulated composite door.
Jim, who has more than 20 years business development experience in UK PLCs and small and medium enterprises, joins the 50-strong Distinction Doors team which recently announced a turnover of £29m. He is based at the company’s 80,000 sq ft headquarters just off the M1 in Tankersley.
Distinction Doors is the market leading supplier of GRP (glass reinforced polyester) insulated composite doors and was founded in 2004 by managing director Drew Wright, who welcomes Jim on to the board alongside co-directors Dave Gomersall, and Dave Walker.
“I’m delighted to be joining a dynamic and fast growing company like Distinction Doors,” said Jim, who hails from Scotland and now lives in Barnsley.
“Distinction Doors introduced the GRP entrance door to the UK market through global manufacturer Nan Ya Plastics Corporation of Taiwan, a world leader in the plastics, chemicals and electronics industries and today the business is going from strength to strength.
Jim added: “It is incredibly exciting to be joining such a forward thinking team with the expertise and creativity to develop our offering and business model to consistently provide customers with the best quality doors available to the market.”
Drew Wright said he is delighted Mr Stewart has now joined Distinction Doors on a permanent basis after spending several months working with the team and managing external projects.
“Jim will be a fantastic sales director for Distinction Doors and joins the team at a pivotal time in our business development,” he said.
“With his input and ideas I am confident we can continue to grow and establish our position as the country’s leading supplier of insulated composite doors.”
