Nick Ross, former BBC Watchdog and Crimewatch presenter, has recently signed a three year contract extension with the Double Glazing & Conservatory Ombudsman Scheme (DGCOS).
Nick Ross says: “Not all rip-offs are criminal offences, but they often have similar effects. And anyone who believes in hard-nosed consumer protection knows you can’t do better than having an independent ombudsman with powers to put things right. I’m proud to be part of the DGCOS scheme which has proved its value, its integrity and its authority over the past four years and remains pre-eminent in an industry that was once a byword for sharp practices.”
Nick originally supported DGCOS pro bono and while he agreed to take a fee for becoming involved in publicity his belief in the Scheme is such that he now endorses DGCOS’s sister scheme, The Home Insulation & Energy Systems Contractors Scheme (HIES), for free.
Tony Pickup, DGCOS Founder, says: “We are delighted to continue our relationship with Nick Ross. We really value his support and his agreement to continue working with us demonstrates that we are doing exactly what we set out to do, which is to protect consumers.”
Tony adds: “We cannot think of anyone better to be the spokesman for DGCOS. Nick’s background and beliefs on consumer protection match our ethos perfectly, and consumers instantly feel assured when they see him supporting the Scheme.”
