Bob Dylan once sang that “Times, they are a-changin’.” For some people the thought of change is scary and daunting as it can bring uncertainty, doubt and an element of discomfort to the ‘comfort zone’. But if you’re a ‘cup half full’ kind of person, change can also mean progression, development and improvement.
I’ve only been working for Padiham Glass Ltd for about 8 weeks now and I’ve seen things changing, even in that short space of time. Prior to my arrival, Padiham Glass Ltd appointed a new Quality Assurance Manager and new production staff, and since I joined, there have been even more new staff to join the company, including the return of Damian Wilkinson, (he started with us over 16 years ago as a trainee lead-worker in the Decorative department!), who has been brought back and appointed as our Technical Services Manager.
As a new starter to the business, it has been really encouraging for me to see how committed the directors are to making Padiham Glass Ltd a better company. And that commitment doesn’t just extend to making more profit. All areas of the business undergo constant assessment and critique, helping to identify problems that arise on a regular basis and find ways to reduce the impact these issues have on other departments. Even better if we can eliminate them altogether!
I’m really looking forward to seeing how things go here at Padiham Glass Ltd. It’s a great team to work alongside and everyone has been really helpful and tried to make time for my questions even though it’s the summer and the sales team have been super busy!
