Glenigan has won a competitive tender to supply planning application and development ‘pipeline’ data to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG)
Glenigan customers already include government agencies, construction companies and suppliers of materials and services to the industry.
The construction intelligence provider will collate and analyse private/domestic and commercial applications data from 350 planning authorities across England after being awarded the contract, which started at the beginning of last month.
The data will be used by DCLG to understand the range of applications and timing of the development stages, and will be key in assessing the impact of planning reforms.
As well as being important to the Department, the Cabinet Office will use the data to monitor development and the Homes and Communities Agency will employ it for both policy and in operational delivery.
Glenigan states that it was chosen to work with DCLG following a formal tender process that assessed the quality of its planning data and robust research procedures.
“We’re delighted that the comprehensiveness and accuracy of our data has been recognised through a rigorous comparison process,” explained Robert Davis, Content Director, Glenigan. “Glenigan information is purchased by many government departments and agencies, supporting their crucial work in enabling the resurgence of the housing and construction industries.”
