Construction Industry Publications (CIP) has published a second edition of its guide to the Construction Industry Joint Council (CIJC) Working Rule Agreement
The Working Rule Agreement is made between employer representatives and the trades unions within the construction industry and sets out the agreed pay rates across the various apprentice and craft levels as well as holiday entitlement and employee benefits. It also covers other issues, e.g. working hours and health, safety and welfare.
The new guide, written by the CIJC, is designed for employers who incorporate the provisions of the Working Rule Agreement into the contracts of employment of their operatives. It sets out to answer many of the frequently asked questions from employers about the interpretation of the various clauses and best practice.
The new guide does not form part of the Working Rule Agreement itself and it is the provisions of the Working Rule Agreement that must be adhered to.
For further information on the guide, which costs £9.95 + P&P, can be purchased, visit the website: www.cip-books.com
