Few would doubt that this year has been considerably better than 2013 in this and other allied trades.
That’s not to say that the P&H sector can take its foot off the pedal. There are already reports coming through that the ‘recovery’ may not be as long lasting or robust as predicted by those in power.
However, the various PHEX exhibitions have proved that the industry has come through this recession and is well positioned to prove itself in 2015. We had the welcome addition of PHEX+ in May at the Alexandra Palace in North London, followed by Old Trafford last month and now, the biggest, at Chelsea FC’s home at Stamford Bridge (11-12 November).
Approximately 3,000 plumbers and heating engineers are expected to pass through the doors with a good display of what will be the latest in the domestic sector, along with seminars arranged by Gas Safety Register during the two days.
We can leave behind some of the disappointments of the year, in particular the dreadfully managed Green Deal and what exactly is the direction of the government’s energy policy and deal with the things that really matter – fine products for professional installers.
