Media 10, the UK’s biggest design and build event company, has launched UK Construction Week which will bring together the newly bought Build Show and Grand Designs Live
In addition to this development, a further seven dedicated events will accompany UK Construction Week (Birmingham NEC, 6-11 October 2015) to create what is claimed to be the ‘most comprehensive construction focused event the UK has ever seen’.
Acquiring the Build Show was a surprise as it was generally recognised that it was in some trouble, having been forced to move from its original slot in April 2015 to October.
This was the view shared by the usually ebullient Paul Godwin, who with colleague Matthew Glover, launched Build Show late last year. His preferred interpretation was: “The response received to the Build Show from the industry has been tremendous. It is the right event at the right time in the resurgence of the building and construction industry and, combined with the resources and existing events within the Media 10 stable under the UK Construction Week banner, will deliver an event worthy of Britain’s most important sector. We are delighted that Media 10 will be taking Build Show forward.”
With its established event of Grand Design Live, Media 10 has an optimistic forecast for the new UK Construction Week of 50,000 trade visitors.
“We already attract more architects, designers and specifiers to our events than any other organiser through 100% Design, Clerkenwell Design Week and Grand Designs Live,” explained Lee Newton, Chief Executive, Media 10. “Therefore, this event is perfect for Media 10 as we believe we are the only company that is capable of delivering such a large and ambitious project.”
