Tower Bridge authorities have described themselves as ‘thrilled’ to unveil the spectacular glass floor across the high-level Walkways
Available in the West Walkway, the glass floor offers visitors a never-seen-before view of London life, from 42m above the River Thames.
Visitors can look down to spy the red London buses and pedestrians speeding over the famous bridge, while river vessels sail under it with the unforgettable prospect of the bascules being raised beneath their feet.
The glass floor measures 11m long x 1.8m wide and comprises panels weighing 530kg each. The installation took a 20-strong team to construct it. The East Walkway will reopen with its own glass floor and far reaching views on Monday, 1 December.
