2014 has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding years that Padiham Glass has ever had. As the company heads into the New Year, we look back at how the family-owned business has developed and adapted to those challenges.
Padiham Glass is a diverse business, offering a plethora of products to a variety of customers, both in trade and retail. Because of this diversity, the company decided to restructure the way they do business and created four distinct divisions, giving greater control and focus to the staff and making it easier for customers to get the right information.

Fire Glass Solutions
Padiham Glass saw a distinct gap in the market for the manufacture and distribution of fire-resistant IGUs and worked tirelessly from 2012 to obtain a partnership license with Pyroguard. In 2014 Padiham Glass Ltd became fully certified to manufacture fire resistant IGU’s using Pyroguard products. Moving forward into the New Year, Padiham Glass is exploring partnership options with other fire glass manufacturers so that they can offer an even wider range of fire-resistant single pane glass and IGUs.
Many businesses in our sector have looked at 2014 as a year of cautious recovery. With initiatives such as the Government’s extension of the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund, and the push to find suitable sites for New Build projects across the country, there has been a steady increase in demand for glazing and glass products.
Padiham Glass has also experienced a surge in commercial glazing enquiries and in the months prior to Christmas, their Commercial & Architectural division has not only met its sales targets, but surpassed them too. October 2014 was a record month as Padiham Glass reported their best sales ever since the company was established in 1980.
Padiham Glass has been extremely pro-active in creating a number of new job roles within the business where there was a distinct need. Trevor Crossley joined as the new Quality Assurance Manager; Vida Cade became their Sales & Marketing Executive; Damian Wilkinson returned to Padiham Glass as Technical Services Manager; Jamie Stoddart and Corrine Brown joined the growing Sales team and Carole Revilles took on the role of Health & Safety Administrator.
Padiham Glass has remained focussed on improving the facilities, developing their staff and expanding the business, even throughout the challenging year that was 2014 and they’re looking forward to facing whatever 2015 has for them too!
