A new breed of orangery roof design has been launched by Atlas Glazed Roof Solutions
This week saw the official launch of a system by the relatively new company of Atlas Glazed Roofing Solutions, part of the £32 million Customade Group, the Gloucestershire fabricator.
Claiming to be the slimmest and one of the strongest ‘mock’ orangery roof systems in the industry, the Skyroom is the latest in the Atlas range of aluminium conservatory and lantern roofs.
It has been created to satisfy the current needs of the marketplace; a fully aluminium, slimline, thermally broken system with the intention of bringing the sought after contemporary designer style of an orangery at a price that Atlas contends is affordable for most homeowners.
It appears to have achieved this with less visible profile and more glass, due to a 70% slimmer ridge and 30% slimmer rafter, so blending design aesthetics, strength and unrivalled performance.
Inside, the Skyroom has a 40mm internal ridge and rafter sections with maximum glazing to optimise the sense of light and space. A raised ring beam creates the appearance of a real orangery lantern roof, while hidden or rafter tie bar supports eliminate the need for unsightly rod tie bars. There are no boss or hoods to intrude on the roof’s slimline ridge.
Talking with two of Atlas’ Welsh installer customers after the launch, there are commercial applications with the system able to accommodate areas such as restaurants.
