Lister Trade Frames of Stoke on Trent have been trading for 40 years and that in itself is an amazing achievement in our Industry. Listers Directors understand the important contribution that their staff have made to those 40 successful years and this was highlighted recently in their latest event.
On Thursday 19th November, 2015, 26 members of Listers’ staff were presented with gifts and certificates in acknowledgement of their long service. These individuals had devoted 10, 15 and 20 years’ service to the Company delivering a staggering combined contribution of over 335 years’ service.
Remarked Mark Warren, Listers’ Managing Director: “It’s a fantastic feeling to have so many members of staff all in the same year who thoroughly deserve recognition. Two years ago we had an additional 10 members receive their 10 and 15 year awards. These people have been with us through thick and thin and we greatly appreciate their efforts.”
Of the 26 people, 12 had achieved 10 years, 13 had accumulated 15 years and one team member had hit the heady heights of 20 years long service. So the Listers Director Team organised a special awards ceremony that saw staff receiving among other things, personalised certificates, an aged bottle of whisky relevant to their length of employment and an extra day’s holiday every year for the rest of their employment with the business.
An extra special mention went out to Listers’ longest serving employee, Mark Capewell, who joined the company 20 years ago as a member of their trade counter team. In the 20 years since, Mark has worked his way through the ranks to become an integral part of the business.
“Mark has dedicated most of his working life to Listers and has helped us shape and build the company,” commented Derrith Turner, HR Director, “he also has a pivotal role in helping us to develop the younger staff members helping them to benefit from his experience.”
“We really appreciate all of our 120 strong team at Listers, but it’s staggering when you look at that figure of 335 combined years of service from just 26 people,” exclaimed Mark “and then when we add in the other 10 individuals from 2 years ago we now have over a quarter of our staff with long service awards.”
Listers have always been recognised as a company people want to work for and this was underlined earlier this year when they won the title of “Employer of the Year” at the Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce awards.
With 120 well established staff, Listers know that over the next few years they’ll be handing out even more certificates and gifts as they welcome the next batch of long service employees.
