Rather than staging its own day of training for its exhibitors like it has done in the past, The FIT Show recently joined forces with the respected Association of Event Organisers (AEO) – after last year becoming a member of the industry body that promotes the event and exhibition industry to marketers of all kinds – and invited its exhibitors to the industry body’s Exhibitors Masterclass at the NEC, Birmingham.
Offering inspiring business techniques to improve return on investment and provide practical exhibition advice from real life case studies, the event also gave attendees the opportunity to learn how to promote their business, get the most out of their sales team and the most from their investment in exhibitions no matter whether their audience is B2B, B2C, UK based or international.
With a line-up that consisted of seasoned professional speakers discussing various topics, the schedule consisted of topics such as: Using Social Media to Find, Engage and Convert New Customers, The Seven Secrets to Successful Exhibition Conversations, How To Get Noticed Dragons’ Den Style, and Technophile or Technophobe? Understanding the Event Technoscape.
Pleased with their experience and seeing much value in attending the AEO Exhibitors Masterclass as guests of The FIT Show, attendees set to exhibit at next year’s show offered their feedback on the Masterclass.
Clare Crockett of Carl F Groupco said: “I’m so glad that we decided to take the FIT Show up on their offer to attend the Exhibitor Masterclass, it opened our eyes to some innovative ways of exhibiting and engaging visitors on our 2017 stand. It was great to network with people from outside of the industry and share ideas.”
With more praise coming in from Andy Wallbanks of Gate Marketing – “I found the whole experience to be very informative, all the guest speakers gave me lots of inspiration. I have taken from the day lots of ideas on how to present my company at The Fit Show 2017 – Customade Group’s Claire Miller added: “The Masterclass was extremely well organised. The first speaker (Rob) was a fantastic motivational speaker – full of energy, with great patter and advice on how to help others to network during an exhibition.”
While finding the Masterclass extremely beneficial, Linda Tomb of Northern Ireland’s Apeer also had a few words to say about the food. “The fabulous food was a bonus,” she exclaimed. And she wasn’t the only one who thought so. “The NEC sponsored sweet trolley – a great idea, a nice treat to eat in the car driving back. I look forward to seeing that at The FIT Show next year,” said Chris Reeks of Mercury Glazing Supplies.
Chris also added: “The day proved to be very useful in terms of the information and advice that was given out. There was a lot of interaction with the speakers, which was good to maintain the attention of the audience. There were many tips that were picked up, from how to use colours for example to create interest, how to quickly engage with people on and around your stand to how not to present yourself on your stand! All in all it was a useful and worthwhile day.”
