For companies who manufacture kitchen and bathroom splashbacks in glass, the compact vertical CNC from Zafferani is the perfect solution where limited space is an issue. Where once producing cut outs for sockets was an extremely time consuming manual job that took up to 20 minutes per cut out, this has all changed thanks to the CNC from Zafferani.
Production time has been dramatically reduced to just 4 minutes per cut out on average, with the vertical milling machine, which has been well received by The Glass Machinery Company customers. Designed by the Italian company after consultation with glass processors, particular attention was placed on devising time saving production methods for customers, the 3 axis, single spindle, CNC vertical milling machine quickly and efficiently produces hinge and socket cut-outs, without the major expense of a traditional horizontal CNC work centre.
The vertical option from Zafferani has a maximum cut out size of 200mm wide x 550 high, although the compact open top machine will take a sheet size of up to 2400mm x 3210mm. The complete drilling, milling and countersink cycles are performed using one special combination tool which eliminates the need for tool changes.
Customers commented that the amount of time saved had created substantial cost savings on the volume of cut-outs produced each week. The milling machine had started to pay for itself in the first few days after installation.
