The Lockex exhibition appears to have been a great success for exhibitors this year with news coming in regarding positive lead generation post event.
EVVA, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of mechanical and electronic access solutions, exhibited at the show using it as a showground for the company’s latest developments and cutting-edge technologies. The company focused on its AirKey product, a flexible electronic system that represents the latest in smart security as well as the Combi key which connects mechanical and locking components within one system.
Security experts from around the world attended alongside visitors from important industrial sectors to discover more about the latest trends and innovations.
dormakaba, a global provider of access control and security solutions also exhibited at the Coventry based event, where the company demonstrated the latest in cylinder technology. The experienced team offered advice on the Kaba Pextra Guard cylinder, which provides British Kitemark certification assurance having achieved the maximum 3-Star rating on the TS007 standard. The modular, stand-alone Evolo access control system was also displayed enabling visitors to explore its technical merits and its ability to be fitted to any door.
Yale – another industry leader and show sponsor was also in attendance, providing visitors with the chance to gain hands-on experience of the latest products from the security specialists. Products on display included the Yale PAS 3261 Doormaster™ – the first retrofit multipoint lock in the market that allows users to maintain accreditation on existing PAS 24 doors.
PAS 3621 is now specified as the benchmark standard for multipoint locks in The Building Regulations’ Approved Document Q, mirroring the BS 3621 standard for locks fitted to external wooden doors. This gives a distinct advantage to locksmiths, as a suitable replacement can be fitted on an initial visit from a small range of van stock, as opposed to ordering a lock and repeating the visit at a later date to complete the installation.
Another security solution showcased was the Yale Platinum 3 Star Cylinder. This product has been designed to provide superior strength against known cylinder attack methods, enabling locksmiths to provide customers with a robust security offering that is cost effective and simple to fit.
Additionally, Yale will be joining forces with UNION, for the Screwfix Live Exhibition which takes place from 30th September – 2nd October at Farnborough Exhibition Centre in North Hampshire.
The two companies will unite for the first time on Stand B1 to showcase some their latest innovations in home and commercial security.
Yale will be highlighting its smart alarms range, while UNION will unveil its exciting rebrand, as well as the UNION trade rated range of products that are available through Screwfix.
Meanwhile in other exhibition news, The Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) has secured its biggest sponsorship deal to date, ahead of their anticipated 18th Expo in October 2017. The deal comes as exhibitor sales are set to hit the highest levels yet.
Since its launch, this biennial event has proved extremely successful and now claims to be Europe’s largest trade exhibition event for the locksmithing and physical security industry. The 2017 Expo will be doubling in size this year to encompass two halls.
This year’s Expo will take place 6-8 October 2017 at the Telford International Centre with many new developments being launched by leading companies. A new area being launched and run in conjunction with the ALA is The Garage. This section of the show will be completely dedicated to auto locksmiths and will feature exhibitors offering products and services specific to that industry sector as well as an auto locksmith seminar area and a vehicle training section.
MLA development director Dr Steffan George recently commented, “Our Expo is one of the most anticipated events in the security industry calendar, and provides a great opportunity for anyone in the industry. They can showcase their products and services, network, share knowledge and make new contacts.
“We’re really excited about the sponsorship deal with Brisant Secure and delighted they’re coming on board. With a wide selection of other exhibitors already signed up from across the industry it’s set to be another fantastic event.”
Brisant Secure’s Joint CEO, Steve Stewart stated: “We’re very proud to be sponsoring the Expo – especially this year when the Expo is going to be bigger and better than ever before. Previous events have always been a great opportunity to show the industry what we can offer and attract new clients so we were eager to become an integral part this time around.”
In other news ASSA, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, has worked with Warrior Doors to secure bin stores for Solihull Community Housing (SCH).
SCH is an Arm’s Length Management Organisation (ALMO) launched in April 2004 to run the housing service on behalf of Solihull Council.
As part of a phased regeneration programme upgraded the bin store doors on a number of properties. With a detailed brief for strong doors that thad to be aesthetically pleasing as well as vandal and vermin proof, a total of 37 sets of doors were replaced.
The low maintenance, long-lasting stainless steel Warrior Doors replaced dilapidated originals which had been targets of vandalism and arson attacks. The doors contained ASSA’s 2788 deadlocks, which offer a robust design ideal for high usage areas.
Brian King, project manager at SCH, said: “Security was absolutely imperative and it was also important that we wouldn’t have any substantial maintenance issues for a long period of time.”
