Window Industry Press and CORGI Fenestration website
There is no getting away from the fact that most people associate CORGI with Gas Safety, and that is understandable. It is where CORGI came from and it is this heritage which helped it to develop what remains even today one of the most recognised and respected brands in the eyes of consumer when it comes to trust, reliability, expertise and quality.
But CORGI has come a long way since it was founded in 1970 and its name is not only associated with the Gas sector. The CORGI brand delivers products and services that range across the heating, plumbing and renewables industry and it continues to deliver an ethos of trust, reliability and expertise through its insistence that all CORGI registered companies and individuals adhere to a strict code of conduct.
Note – in 2016 CORGI Services released the results of their latest independently conducted consumer survey. It showed that as a brand with attributes that consumers understood and respected, CORGI was by a considerable distance the most recognised, with 74% of consumers putting it first on their list.
It is clear from this survey that consumers more than ever seek peace of mind that a job in their home will be done right. It is clear in their mind CORGI remains the most trusted brand to deliver that.
CORGI has continued to look at other industries where delivering a service to the homeowner in a trusted and reliable way is a key element of the route to market. We have had many approaches over the years, and turned down many potential opportunities, but when we met with Chris Mayne and Jacqueline Crawford it became clear that through their knowledge of the Fenestration industry and their approach to business that we had a meeting of minds about how service should be delivered, and how important an association with a truly trusted consumer brand could be for them.
Their ethos is clearly the same as our own, wanting all tradespeople involved in the supply chain to be suitably and formally trained and qualified to do the jobs they are required to do by their employers in order to deliver a truly reliable service to the consumer.
Working with GQA Qualifications, the fenestration industry’s own qualifications writing and awarding body to underpin their work was another key attraction for CORGI and gave us great confidence that we were working with a partner that is committed to trying to develop a long term sustainable future for the industry it is involved in by putting qualification at the heart of its proposition.
From a CORGI licenced business this is exactly what we want to see, a vehicle in place which will give consumers peace of mind and deliver quality and expertise when having work done in their home – the principles that CORGI brand values are founded upon.
CORGI Fenestration is entirely complementary to other CORGI licences which are active in the Building Services sector such as Heating and Plumbing and we are delighted to be working with such experienced and well qualified people in a truly dynamic industry.
