Synseal Group has launched an innovative new door app for the Masterdor Craftsman range of engineered timber doors.
The new mobile and tablet friendly app uses augmented reality to superimpose any Craftsman door design in any colour directly onto a homeowner’s existing door, allowing consumers to visualise their dream door on their own home.
Augmented reality combines computer-generated imagery with the user’s view of the real world, in this case enabling the user to select from the full 27-style range of Craftsman doors and personalise with one of 21 colours, 30 glazing options and a range of hardware choices so homeowners can design their own bespoke door and see what this looks like in place of their existing door.
This can be done in two ways, either by using purpose designed “targets” which are fixed onto the real door to guide the CGI enabled technology in real life, or by taking a snap of the door you want to redesign and working from a photo. The latter is a flexible alternative which allows you to revisit a door without the need to be physically in front of it.
Andy Jones, Group Sales and Marketing Director, said:
“We wanted to build a useful sales tool that our fabricators and their installers could use to help homeowners make informed buying decisions. This new app is like nothing else on the market, as it allows homeowners to browse our full range of doors and see what a particular door would look like on their own home.
“It’s a really useful resource for installers who are out on the road and need a way to help persuade a buyer that this door is right for them. It also works brilliantly in showrooms, particularly small ones, where our customers can utilise the app to showcase all 27 styles without needing to physically have all the doors in the room. All you need is one door, or even one door-sized space in which you can attach the targets.
“We’re looking forward to showing off the new Craftsman Door Designer at next month’s FIT Show and we believe it’s going to be exactly what installers are looking for to help improve conversion rates with homeowners.”
The new app will be on show at Stand K40 at the FIT Show in May and is available to download now for free. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
