Synseal Group is taking a specific Masterdor stand to the FIT Show this year. We asked David Wigley, Head of Marketing at Synseal Group, what visitors can expect to see.
The Masterdor brand has emerged as a clear leader in the door market and we’re taking the opportunity at this year’s FIT Show to showcase the full range of our engineered timber and GRP doors at a specific Masterdor stand.
The latest market research shows than more than half of homeowners looking for a new door are choosing GRP doors, with one in five now buying timber doors – this is huge growth in a market that was dominated by PVC-U until just under a decade ago. There’s a real opportunity for fabricators and their installers to increase their margins with alternative material doors, particularly with high-end, engineered timber doors which offer unbeatable quality and longevity.
We have put more than two decades of research into perfecting the Masterdor Craftsman timber door – and it really shows in the final product. It’s a unique combination of authentic craftsmanship and precision engineering which enables us to produce high volumes of both 44mm and 54mm doors to a consistently high quality, helping us meet the demands of major housebuilders like Avant Homes, who we have manufactured more than 1000 doors for over the last year.
If you inspect a cross section of the product, you can see the many engineered layers that have been specifically chosen to ensure the Craftsman is solid, secure and weather proof. We start with a Kerto Q core with cross-banded layers, and add a solid sapele lipping and tricoya facings to give every door a smooth finish that is supremely watertight.
What will be clear from our stand at the FIT Show is the flexibility we offer in terms of bespoke design. Every Craftsman door is made to order, with 27 traditional, contemporary and cottage styles available including three recently added stable doors.
We offer 21 colours across the entire Craftsman range encompassing current trends like Anthracite Grey and Chartwell Green, as well as the classic hues of Savile Row Blue, Wax Seal Red and Bottle Green. We haven’t come across any other solid door manufacturer who offers such a comprehensive made-to-order colour range, which gives your customers unrivalled choice without the concerns of longer lead times or limited stock availability.
On top of this, we have a wide selection of secure hardware available including contemporary, cottage and gothic styles, and more than 30 elegant glazing options which are manufactured to order by Global Glass, Synseal Group’s own glass division.
To cater to the more mainstream market, our 19-style Benchmark range of doors combine a high density foam with a hardwearing GRP skin to offer an alternative which doesn’t let you down on quality or style. An excellent lower cost alternative which is suitable for virtually every project.
Six of our Benchmark styles are also available as 30-minute fire doors, making them a great choice for flats and apartments – plus our full-privacy, six-panelled Erewash door has been successfully tested in accordance with British Standards to meet requirements for a 60-minute fire door.
If you’re more concerned about flood than fire, we will also be demonstrating our Sheerframe PVC-U flood door on the stand which was independently tested last year and always makes for an exciting demonstration – as long as no-one opens the door midway through!
If you’re visiting the show to find out how brands like Masterdor can help you to increase your sales of high-end products, stop by Stand K40 and see a demonstration of our new Craftsman Door Designer. We’ve gone one step further than standard online door designers and have implemented augmented reality technology which enables you to superimpose any Craftsman door style, in any colour, directly onto a customer’s home in place of their current door. We think it’s going to be a really useful tool to help installers get customers over the line, and we are looking forward to it making a real difference to our customers’ bottom lines.
